10 Reasons Why Canadians Aren't Sure if Squirrels or Birds Actually Like Them

  1. Canadians can't quite decide if the sound of a squirrel eating a nut is a sign of contentment or just a polite Canadian way of saying 'no thank you'.

  2. Squirrels are always so polite when they ask for a nut and then they just run away!

  3. Squirrels always take the biggest piece of the nut and leave the rest for the birds.

  4. Squirrels have a tendency to stare at us with their big, black eyes, making us feel uncomfortable.

  5. It's hard to tell if the birds are singing out of joy or just to be polite.

  6. When Canadians see a bird perched on a tree branch, they can’t decide if the bird is looking at them out of curiosity, or just politely trying to make eye contact.

  7. When a squirrel scurries up a tree, Canadians can’t decide if the squirrel is running away because it’s scared or just running away in a polite and courteous way.

  8. Canadians don’t know if the birds and squirrels are actually appreciative of the food they put out for them, or if they’re just being polite and showing their gratitude.

  9. When a squirrel digs a hole in the ground, Canadians can’t tell if the squirrel is just trying to politely show them where the best hiding spots are or if it’s digging to hide something from them.

  10. They don't seem to appreciate the bird feeders that we put out, and instead just eat the seed right off the ground.
